As of January 2008, we will be using this website for announcements, help, and so on, throughout the year, so please check back from time to time.
January 9, 2008: WE HOPE YOU HAD A VERY GOOD HOLIDAY SEASON!
We were VERY excited to see how many of you responded and completed the first survey last month. Each and every completed survey is a great help to us. So, before we go any further, let us say thank you very much!
The next survey is now ready. Yes, it's coming fairly quickly after the first one, but the good news is that this one is shorter, and, the next one won't be for a few months.
PLEASE DON'T QUIT NOW - We really do need your opinions!
And, as you know, if you complete all 6 surveys, you will be eligible for the $2,500 cash first prize.
Some of you experienced minor problems taking the first survey. Most of these problems were the result of the fact that our online survey software does not like reloading pages or restarting the survey. Once you start the survey you cannot save it and come back - you have to finish it in one sitting.
If you do experience problems, try this:
- 1. Go back to the survey, and wherever you are in it, click the 'EXIT AND CLEAR SURVEY' link at the bottom of the page.
- 2. Close your browser
- 3. Re-open your browser, and try the survey again.
ALSO: Please make sure you click the "SUBMIT" button at the bottom of the last page. This seems obvious, but after a longer survey, it’s easy to miss!
You will note that some of the questions were asked on the previous survey. This is by design. The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes.
The LAST DAY to take the survey will be January 18th. You may complete it anytime before that.
We will send a reminder to everyone in approximately 1 week. The subject line of this email will contain the words "REMINDER: AMERICAN VALUES SURVEY #2," so if you have already taken the survey you can safely delete it.
REMINDER: Please use the email address you used when you signed up for the survey here - otherwise, we cannot track your participation correctly.
TO AVOID CONFUSION: Most of the questions on this survey are vital to our research project. That's why most - not all - have a red asterisk (*) in front of them. The survey software will not allow you to proceed to the next screen until these particular questions have been answered.
